Preparation, Characterization and Antibacterial activity of polyaniline-CdS nanocomposites

Abstract Polyaniline (PANI) semiconductor polymer and cadmium sulfide nanoparticles (CdS NPs) was prepared by chemical oxidation method sol-gel respectively. (10-40) wt% content of CdS NPs added polyaniline conductive powder to PANI-CdS nanocomposites. The Fourier transform infrared analysis FT-IR spectra the samples revealed that effective groups peak locations referred confirming bond are well-matched with reported literature. XRD results shows a very wide PANi which indicate some crystallinity structure. Whereas diffraction pattern high polycrystalline nature hexagonal wurtzite phase. nanocomposites lower peaks intensity than improved increase content. antibacterial activity PANi-CdS estimated agar well diffusion against four types pathogenic bacteria Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli Klebsiella pneumonia. It found there is strong greatest effect for 40 highest Staph. aureus as
